Without any provenance we cannot tell you "what type" of amber it is.

Could be from Mexico, the Black Sea,  Myanmar, South America, The Caribbean, or New Jersey.  :shrug:

Amber can be found world wide.

do you have some more infos about the amber? Reminds me to indonesian amber for the first moment, but it is hard to say only with a pic...
