svcgoat
I started prepping this crab I purchased when I was in New Zealand. I am relatively new to prepping so not sure how much more to do. I cleaned up the crab and revealed a little bit more of it so far. Not exactly sure how much more is hiding under the matrix

Lone Hunter
I'm no expert but I'll take a stab at Trichopeltarion?
Doctor Mud
5 hours ago, Lone Hunter said: I'm no expert but I'll take a stab at Trichopeltarion? Yep! Trichopeltarion greggi. Greta Formation Pliocene I think I would stop there. It looks great. Most aren’t preppable. Hard rock, soft shell. So lucky they’re on this one. Then lots are incomplete. Most are just the carapace. Id take a look for leg tips or rings but it looks like this is mostly legless? 1
RJB
Purty much what Dr Mud said. I've prepped 3 of these in the past, and tuff preps for sure. I used what is called the 'stop and glue' technique to try and save what I could with the shell material. You may have some leg on the right side, but if so, I think they would only be stubs? Best of luck RB
