there's only one possible explanation for this:

Times were tough. The harvest was a disappointment that year. Oog and Grom, King and Queen of the local Albertian tribe had no choice but to make a mass sacrifice of their Centrosaurus herd to the beautiful Goddess of the Harvest named EmmyTee.
