Found in Silver City New Mexico Greetings, I was looking to get an I D or more specifically a species. The  entire specimen measures 10.71 cm x7.62 . It's the first find of it's kind for me.

It appears to be a proetid. Was this found in situ? From my dim recollection in reading a very brief bit about the Silver City area, there are Mississippian limestones and the Devonian Percha shales.

Yes it was and you would be correct on the stratigraphy.

Trilobites are incredibly rare in the Percha, so I think this would be from the Lake Valley Formation (lower Mississippian), which also matches the lithology.  I'll see if I can find the paper on Lake Valley trilobites later, if @piranhadoesn't beat me to it, which is always what happens.

Nice find BTW.  There's lots of fun fossil hunting to be done in the Silver City area, especially in the Devonian, Mississippian, and Cretaceous, plus probably some other ages.
