grandpa
Welcome to the forum. I'll await the "eggsperts" to weigh in on your find.
Fin Lover
I am far from an "eggspert", but I'm not seeing the typical eggshell texture here. Also, based on the cracks, it looks like the "shell" would be way too thick to be an egg. Fossildude19
Looks like a concretion or possibly a septarian nodule. 2 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 __________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." Ludwigia
With a bit of imagination, it also looks like a football , although I wouldn't try kicking it. 1 1 Greetings from the Lake of Constance. Roger http://www.steinkern.de/

The structure of the cracks points to a septarian concretion. Not an egg--fossilized eggs are pretty rare and show characteristic surface details from the eggshell. https://www.google.com/search?q=septarian+concretion&tbm=isch Cheers. -Ken
