Hello,

Anyone have any thoughts on this I am interested in? A small theropod tooth from Brook Bay, Isle of Wight.

0.43cm so it is a tiny tooth. Small, just visible serrations. Oval base.

Wondering if someone can narrow the type down.

cheers

I wasn't aware compsognathids are known from the Isle of Wight. Maybe either @Haravex or @paulyb135 can be of help?

There are two. Calamosaurus and Aristosuchus

Doesn't strike me as dinosaurian. Looks more crocodilian to my eye.

This tooth does have small serrations. I am not sure of any serrated crocs in IoW. Or the UK actually.

That is what seller listed it as. But I agree, Matrix looks very similar to my fossils from there.

I dont have anything from Brook Bay so I have no idea what Matrix there is typically like.
