spagbutcher
Hi all, posting some of the photos of fossils I found at Turimetta Beach in NSW. Can anyone recognise any plants or animals in any of these? Would love to know some more about them! Thanks # 1 #2 # 3 # 4 # 5
Fossildude19
Looks like unidentifiable plant hash. @izak_ @Paleoworld-101 3 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 __________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." Rockwood
I think many of these are identifiable. Close up photos focusing on fewer items in a single posting would make the task much easier though.

Mark Kmiecik
Looks like mostly forest ground debris -- "floor tile". 1 Mark. Fossil hunting is easy -- they don't run away when you shoot at them!
izak_
These seem to be Cylostrobus sydneyensis cones, the rest is unidentifiable I think. A nice find! 6 hours ago, spagbutcher said: Edited January 1 by izak_
spagbutcher
Thanks so much everyone!! I realised I forgot to include a great little fossil in my post, attaching it here. Anyone know what it is? Edited January 1 by spagbutcher
Rockwood
This is likely a Pteridosperm (seed fern) leaf. Pecopteris would be an example. Your second photo down is probably either a Calamites stem section or a piece of shed cortex material from a Lycopsid. Grass like leaves are likely from a Lycopsid. They would be known as Cyperites. The broader more rounded leaves with a central vein are likely pinnules from a Pteridosperm leaf. Neuropteris would be an example. Another larger strap like leaf with multiple veins to consider would be the early conifer Cordiates.
