Stone with lines from Chile

Recommended Posts

Hi, my 5year old son found this in Chile, near Cochamo in a riverbed and the more I look at it I wonder how a stone got this texture. Maybe you can help us understand how this happened.

It is about 13inches long and very heavy.

Thanks!!

It is similar to a geological type of rock known as boxwork.

Fossil hunting is easy -- they don't run away when you shoot at them!
