Unidentified bone fragment from the Eagle Ford-Austin chalk transition zone

Hello all, I need some help with the ID on this bit of bone I found this evening in the Kef-Kau transition zone off the near the Denton-Collin County border, If anyone has ever hinted this zone/area you know that it's full off sharks' teeth, vertebra and plenty of bone fragments like fish jaws, this is the first piece of simi recognizable bone I've found in a good while that I have no idea on what to ID it as. Thanks for any help anyone can give me.

Hi,

It’s a fish vertebra.

It would be nice to indicate the size of the boxes of your underhand and not to take the fossil in the hands, which hides the details and causes blurring.

What does DFW mean ? For the very many non-English speaking members it means nothing.

Coco

DFW = Dallas-Fort Worth  area in Texas.

I've added that acronym to the word expansion filter on the Forum Software.  ;)

There is a fish vertebra there, but the bone in the center of the photos doesn't look like a second one to me. I think it most likely is from a large bony fish though.

It's the airport code there too, but if that's right I hope the person is on a break. :)
