Hi guys, on a website I found this dinosaur footprint for sale.

It was discovered in Germany.

In your opinion is it real o fake?

Thanks a lot!

I am quite shocked by the many veinlets in this rock. Isn´t this very unusual for footprint fossils?

I also don´t like the painting, but this is my personal thing.

I know some of the British tracks are on water worn rocks like this one, but all of the grallator tracks that I see online are from "excavated" rocks, with sharp edges.

I'm sure others on the forum know better than me though.

Not knowledgeable on dino tracks but could this be a leaf?

I agree with SPrice.  I tend to be skeptical of so called dino tracks unless they are obvious or in actual trackways.  There are to many other things out there that can look like three toed tracks.

This is definitely the wrong type of rock to have a dinosaur footprint.

This is a fake - looks vaguely dinosaur footprint like.

some of them are on the market, "Pterosaur-footprint" and "Dinosaur-Footprint". I wrote to the guy but no respond

I do not think it is a fake, looks like a natural phenomen combined with a dealer who does not know what it is or who does not know what honesty is..., cannot decide

Whatever it is..., it is not a footprint, more nature art

By trying to sell it as a footprint, I would deem this a fake for that reason alone.

I agree, it is a natural indent, that vaguely resembles a footprint.

By painting the "footprint" and trying to sell it, I think, classifies this as a fake footprint.

Not manufactured, per se, but not totally natural, either.

No matter how it may be perceived, it is not a real footprint, in the end.
