svcgoat
Is this skull real? Is it from an adult individual? Its 10 inches and has minor restoration on the canines braincase and sagittal crest. Seller says it from miocene but I am pretty sure Hyaenodon lived during the Oligocene
MarcoSr
The skull doesn't compare well to this Oligocene Hyaenodon skull from our M&M Ranch in Nebraska. North
There are multiple Hyaenodon species ranging from Eocene to Miocene. I think locality could help people to figure which one it should be compared with. There's no such thing as too many teeth.
Fossildude19
Looks more like major fabrication of the skull, to me. 5 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 __________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." rocket
you know where it should come from? I agree with @Fossildude19 and @jpc, lot of fabrication on this
Vertebrate
Here is a large (about 10 inches) apparently simply prepped partial skull of Hyaenodon Horridus from Pennington county region of the White River Badlands of South Dakota from my collection for comparison. One canine tip has resto, all other remaining teeth are original. Purchased many years ago. I agree with the others that the one you posted looks fake, at least significant parts of it.
