Hello, Brilliant Experts;

’Found this today.  It’s about 1.7 inches and composed of varied patterns of stone.  I appreciate any insight.

possibly an extremely work mammal tooth fragment.  I say that based on the radiating crystal structure I am seeing but this in only a guess.

hello! When posting pics for ID, please post general location, doesn't have to be specific, just county and state or a nearby city.

Hi, The entire location of the find is in the tags, but for clarity’s sake, it was found on Blind Pass Beach, Gulf Coast, Venice, Florida, USA.

Yup. Tooth tip it is--mastodon/gomphothere enamel is thick and very distinctly patterned with the striations visible in cross-section. These are not completely uncommon though most proboscidean teeth here in Florida tend to be found as smaller fragments as opposed to complete teeth. I've seen so many of these tiny river polished tooth fragments that they are easy to identify from even seemingly nondescript chunks.

Cheers.
