New Members Rosemaryv Posted January 24 New Members Share Posted January 24 Sorry that the pictures aren't the clearest, they were the best I could get. I found this rock about 10 years ago on a beach in South Wales, and I was never able to figure out if it was a fossil or why it looks like it does. I would be interested to know what caused this. It has ridged spike-shaped marks on it, which are raised on one side (photo 2) and dip inwards on the other (photo 1). Thank you!
Brevicollis
Very interesting I have absolutely no clue what in the world it could be . It could be nature formed or a fossil. My only explonation about it, is being a huge incomplete ammonite thats wheathered . I like fossils... Thats all I have to say.
TqB
It's not a fossil but a fine piece of cone-in-cone structure, a geological feature interesting in its own right. 3 4 Tarquin

Mark Kmiecik
Very collectable cone-in-cone structure. Nice find. 2 Mark. Fossil hunting is easy -- they don't run away when you shoot at them!
