Hi,

My niece found this fossil (?) in Paris, Kentucky on 2/4/24.

Looks like coral but I would very much appreciate help with the identification. I searched online but I’m not exactly sure where to look. Would love to know what it is!!

Thanks,

CAGANNON

A really nice specimen of Acrocyathus, I think.

I agree, assuming it's Carboniferous which I think is right for the area.

The Paris/Lexington area is Mississippian. Nice find.

Fossil hunting is easy -- they don't run away when you shoot at them!
