New Members Merritt Posted February 8 New Members Share Posted February 8 New guy from Southeast Alabama here. Hello to everyone. Just wondering what you guys think that have a lot more experience. I know that this is a worked piece of flint but I find them all the time that are in the shape of a tooth. I think it's probably just coincidence just wanted someone else's opinion that knows a little more. Thanks in advance.
Kane
No root or tooth enamel. My guess would be suggestively shaped rock. 1 6 ...How to Philosophize with a Hammer
Brandy Cole
This looks like an interestingly shaped piece of limestone to me.
Fossildude19
Does not look worked to me, and definitely not a tooth. 3 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 __________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." FossilDAWG
Another vote for "not a tooth". Of course if it was worked into a cutting tool it would resemble a tooth, much like a knife resembles a cutting type tooth. Why do you think it is worked, though. I don't see anything obvious from the photo, and rock will often flake off of weathering limestone like that. Perhaps there are features that don't show up in that photo?
