Weird Sea Urchin

Brevicollis

Hello, I have this weird Seaurchin in my collection, and i couldnt identify it. But it looks a bit like a Cyclaster to me. I found it some years ago on a beach in nothern Germany at the Baltic sea.

Are good signatures really that important ?

Yes, one can faintly recognize that it's an echinoid, but it's incredibly weathered, so I couldn't even hazard a guess at its ID.

I would say its a Cyclaster because of the pattern. Look : my Seaurchin and a picture in a book, the pattern looks very similar to me.

Just going by the pattern, since there's not enough shape left to be able to make a proper judgement, it could just as well be a Micraster, Holaster or even an Echinocorys for instance, but I'm no great expert on the matter, so that's just my humble opinion.
