Randyw Posted February 19 Share Posted February 19 Hi! Welcome to the forum! “Rattle rocks” are often a form of geode. Minerals dissolved in Water seeps into a natural void in a rock and forms crystals inside. Some of them break off the sides and that’s what you hear rattling when you shake it. If carefully broken open some are lovely inside and some are kind of blah… if your son loves it as a rattle rock I wouldn’t suggest opening it though… 4 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
