fossil35
Have a piece of matrix with urchins on it. But they are on a thin bit of matrix that seems to be raised up bit from the rest of matrix. Was wanting see if there was something should do to help protect it or just leave if as is. The edge of some areas of the raised part are very thin seem like could flake. The raised up middle area seems to be all the way around the matrix but no on the 1 side. Will add photos best could to try show raised up parts. #1 #2 #3 #4 #

Ludwigia
I'd trickle some liquid superglue into the fissure and would then leave it as is. 3 Greetings from the Lake of Constance. Roger http://www.steinkern.de/

Ptychodus04
I agree with @Ludwigia. Use a micro-application tip on your glue bottle to keep it from running all over the exposed surface and drop some glue in that crack. It looks like it's asking to come off. 1 Regards, Kris Global Paleo Services, LLC https://globalpaleoservices.com http://instagram.com/globalpaleoservices http://instagram.com/kris.howe
rocket
I would assume after stabilizing the crack with superglue it might be possible to prep a little bit Glasfiberpens might help, or - if you have experience - Kaliumhydroxid Might be some parts or complete urchins are under the matrix, or not. Is the matrix soft and - where does it come from? France?
fossil35
Was from Iowa. I did think of trying pop the thin layer off and see if anything was hiding under but didn't want to risk it. I don't have a lot of prep experience, just 1 fish and Utah trilobites (if count those) so didn't plan to try prep. It should be good now.
