Hello,

New member who is discovering a love of fossil hunting. All of my collection comes from a large creek on our property in NE Ohio. Please check out the star fish, and possible bird track.....and comment if anyone can identify the last rib looking fossil I attached. Thanks!!

These may all be marine ichnofossils, likely from around the Devonian..

Hello, Kevin, and a very warm welcome to TFF from Morocco.:)

I agree that there may be burrows/ ichnofossils there but maybe Ordovician if not Devonian.

Welcome from Texas (and formerly Ohio)!

Yes, I believe #1 is  an ichnofossil, probably some type of burrow.  I thought the second one might be a bryozoan, but in looking at the picture enlarged, I agree it also is some sort of a burrow or feeding trace.  The third one, I'm not certain it isn't just differential weathering of the sediments, but maybe some other views of it might indicate some sort of trace fossil.

The age is dependent on where in NE Ohio they came from, but certainly they are Paleozoic.

Thanks for the feedback and welcome. I attached a cross section view of number 3, and a better picture of 1. Someone asked where in NEO.....these were found 40 miles south of Lorain

Hi and welcome.  The last one is some sort of coral.  BUt I agree that at least the first two are trace fossils.

Looks like a syringoporid coral to me.
