OneLastSift
Hello, I found this during my last trip to a NJ Cretaceous stream. I sometimes find Devonian coral fragments but have never found something like this. I believe the round parts to be remnants of crinoid stems but I’m unsure about the star shapes. Any help is appreciated, thanks! Edited March 18 by OneLastSift
OneLastSift
Hi if a moderator could remove this I would appreciate it, I chose uncropped pictures and would like to make a new post. Thanks edit: I edited the original post to include the correct pictures.
Fossildude19
These are crinoid columnal imprints. The asterisk imprints may be from crinoid calyx plates. 1 1 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 __________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." Fossildude19
I guess that shape could also be indicative of a Cystoid plate. Echinoderm of some sort, at least. 1 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 __________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks."
