Which order does it belong to? 

He came from Morocco.

I'm a teacher (though not a science teacher) and he's sort of a class pet and we want to know more about him.

The most common Moroccan species is: Gerastos tuberculatus marocensis.  Gerastos granulosus is a popular name across the internet, but is not a valid species in Morocco.
