Unidentified bone piece fragment

Crinoids

Recommended Posts

I know it's hard to identify a bone with an unknown location and no identifying features but you all are super good so I wanted to give it a swing. I purchased this in IN, USA from a flea market for .75c was just curious what it could be if it could be IDed

Yep, that looks like a chunk of bone, but I can't imagine much more than that can be said.  I will add, that it is unlikely that it came from Indiana (looks too mineralized for Pleistocene material and it doesn't look Paleozoic, so...).

It could be a chunk of dinosaur bone, but indeed, not enough of it nor provenance info to say anything for sure.

a chunkosaur.

(I use that term for dinosaur as well as any unIDable bone fragments).
