Fossil ID help

Recommended Posts

I was trying searching some micro fossils for the first time and found some fossils needed help with. Haven't done anything with bones or coral much.

They are all from North Carolina. Will post 2 sides of each.

#1 (first one was thinking sea urchin but not sure)

3 Migth be a partial stingray sting, and 6 is definetly the half of a crab claw. 1 Looks like sea urchin, but im not 100% Sure and the rest could be some sort of fish bones or teeth. But this has someone else to identify, because im not an expert.

Are good signatures really that important ?

Thank you for all the info. Awesome the #6 is crab claw first crab piece have found ever.

As I'm looking though everything had a question if any would know. I can tell shark teeth and and a few other fossils for the most part. But wasn't sure if I was over looking over some other things that look like something but some could be stones to, so thought add as from same place. If any could tell if fossil or stones. Thank for any help as I keep looking, as I'm new with bone, skin, scales and some of these other things.

#1 (The top 2 coprolite maybe?) ( bottom ones is that what turtle shells or fish scale pieces?)

#2 (would any of these be what look for as bone pieces?)

Hi,

OK with JPC.

I see in 4 a piece of shell without being able to say more about it, the eagle ray teeth are smoother than what is observed here.

Had 2 from the same place that wasn't sure of. Thought would ask to be sure.

This is a broken corner (one side of the root and a little bit of enamel from the blade or possibly cusplet) of what was a larger shark tooth. Hard to say what species of shark with such a small fragment.
