New Members briditl Posted March 31 New Members Share Posted March 31 Hi everyone! This is my first post on here and I made an account just to ID this because this has been puzzling me for years. I found this in a vase of seashells that I bought down in Daytona, Florida in 2014. That’s pretty much all I remember about it. Ever since I’ve been wondering what it is. It has a very smooth and polished feel to it, like ceramic. There aren’t any ridges except for a very faint shell imprint near one of the edges, which I included in the photos. I think it is a shell fossil as well but I’d like to know what kind? It just looks pretty weird but cool to me. It’s a little over two inches, as pictured. I hope the photos provided are enough and thank you to anyone who helps out!
Brevicollis
This migth be a partial, polished, and extremly worn down modern clam shell. Growth lines are visible, that's why I think it is one. 2 I like fossils... Thats all I have to say.
Ludwigia
I agree and would add that this is a partial. 1 Greetings from the Lake of Constance. Roger http://www.steinkern.de/

Mark Kmiecik
I'm sorry. It's not a partial. It's a fragment. 2 Mark. Fossil hunting is easy -- they don't run away when you shoot at them!
