Loxodonta45
Hi All! I took my first trip to the Ladonia Fossil Park (such a cool place!!!) and found a few fossils I was hoping to get more insight on. I'm wondering if the first fossil (photos 1-4) might be a vertebral body? I have no idea what photos 5 and 6 is... Would love to know what you guys think of Photos 7 and 8? Im thinking they may be fossilized shells trapped in rock? Thanks for your guidance! Edited May 22 by Loxodonta45
Shellseeker
Welcome to TFF. I am from Florida and not that knowledgeable in Texas fauna, but your first looks exactly like a small overly worn vertebra. I assure you that Texas fossil hunters will be around by morning. 1 The White Queen ".... in her youth she could believe "six impossible things before breakfast"
shark57
5 and 6 looks like a segment from an ammonite. 7 and 8 just looks like phosphate nodules in rock to me.
JohnJ
Your first item is a worn mosasaur vertebra. 1 1 1 The human mind has the ability to believe anything is true. - JJ
