Michael1
I found this tooth in the peace river it seems to just be the Crown since the majority of the root is broken off. Wondering if anyone knows what it is. Looks like some type of cetacean tooth, but im hoping for mammal. If anyone needs additional photos please just ask. Thanks

shark57
I would like to see a picture of the base from underneath. Even if it is broken that would give us a good idea of the shape.

Micheal1 , good call on the underside It could be, but from the previous alligator teeth i’ve collected it doesn’t have that signature round nature to it. Its a little hard to capture in the photos but its shape is different. Do you think its possible its some type of cetacean?

Living Fast and Dying Young__ Life History and Ecology of a Neogene Sperm Whale The tooth on the right has horizontal banding leading up to vertical banding in the tip. Whale is the only mammal that has that characteristic... Sometimes it is hard to see. 1 The White Queen ".... in her youth she could believe "six impossible things before breakfast"
