Is this a T-rex tooth?

Hello, I have acquired a T-Rex tooth a few years ago but I now have doubts about its proper identification. 

 

The tooth measures 1 inch.

It is so poorly preserved, I am not sure you will get a confident answer.

Do you have any more info on where it was found? Which county within Montana?

I only know that it is found in hell creek, Montana.

Hell Creek is actually a very limited area.  I suspect that someone along the line of ownership left out the word 'Formation'... Hell Creek Formation, which is found throughout much of western MT and is a good source of rex teeth.  I am not saying it can't be from the actual Hell Creek, but I doubt it is.

It is definitely tyrannosaurid. As stated already county is important in MT. If you get a better picture of the base straight in we may be able to at least rule out nanotyrannus.
