New Leviathan Whale Was Prehistoric "jaws"?

Evoking the poster for the original summer blockbuster, a new species of killer sperm whale attacks a baleen whale in an illustration.

Dubbed Leviathan melvillei—an homage to Moby-Dick author Herman Melville—the recently unearthed fossil sea monster lived about 13 million years ago in waters atop what's now a Peruvian desert, according to a study published by the journal Nature on Wednesday.

It seems that the genus name "Leviathan" is already used! Will have to change ...

The genus Leviathan is not used earlier.

This is the genus Leviathania, a molluscan genus that belongs to the class Gastropoda.

Is is described in the publication "Hauterivian gastropods from Castellfort (Castellon). Batalleria, 6, Juliol 1996: 67-75. [Zoological Record Volume 133] by Calzad.

The species is this publication is Leviathania eixarchi Calzada 1996

The genus Leviathan as described in Nature (1 July 2010) is a new genus that belongs to the Physeteroidea.

With a skull length of about 3m and a skull width of 190 cm, Leviathan melvillei is the largest known fossil physeteroid. Body length is estimated at 13.5–17.5 m.
