Hello everyone,

I found this at an antique shop and was wondering if it is real. There is very little info but to me it looks like it’s from China. The owner said it is from an old collection. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

The prep work is so terrible, that I can't decide whether the piece is real or fake. If it is real, it is probably a Xinpusaurus sui from the Middle Triassic of Guizhou.

This is a (still unprepped)  Xinpusaurus from my collection:

Be not ashamed of mistakes and thus make them crimes (Confucius, 551 BC - 479 BC).

Thanks for your input.

If it were to be real would there be any chance of rescue through further prep?

It looks like a Xipusaurus to me too.  It's likely from Guanling of Guizhou, in which the matrix is quite hard and sometimes prep work could be very bad, like this one.  I don't think it could be further prepped.  Two other specimens from Guanling are attached for comparison.
