Brevicollis
Hello, I saw this tooth of a dinosaur that I've never heard of, "Losillasaurus", for sale today. I wanted to ask, if its really one, or just another missidentified Niger tooth, it really looks like one. According to the desIt was found in the "Villar del Arzobismo" formation, Valencia, Spain, which makes me question the ID even more, because Spain banned the export of dinosaur fossils, I think ? I might be wrong, any info for that is also appreciated. Thanks if someone knows, I bet im not the only one that has never heard of this sauropod dinosaur before 😅 Its around 3.4 cm in length. Edit : not even Google or Wikipedia knew what in the world this is, is the name a synonym, or completly made up to trick unlucky collectors into buying it (its insanely expensive !!!) ? Did this sauropod even exist, is there any proof ? Edit 2.0 : I've misspelled the name, thats why Edited April 27 by Brevicollis Are good signatures really that important ? Runner64
It was originally sold as from Madagascar Isalo iii formation.
FB003
It looks like many of the teeth out there sold as "Jobaria" or "Spinophorosaurus”. If it's being sold as from Spain, no idea. It does seem to somewhat resemble teeth from Losillasaurus though (D7 or D8 in second link below). I just have no idea about teeth from there. @Haravex may be familiar perhaps. https://www.researchgate.net/figure/Dentary-teeth-of-Losillasaurus-giganteus-San-Lorenzo-specimen-right-dentary-teeth_fig3_344099873 https://www.researchgate.net/figure/Left-dentary-and-teeth-MAP-6008-of-Losillasaurus-giganteus-San-Lorenzo-specimen-in_fig2_344099873 Edited April 28 by FB003 *Frank*
pkedinofossils
this tooth does resemble a losillasaurus giganteus, although like you said spanish exports for fossil did get banned. chances are it is genuine.

The tooth is from Madagascar, not Spanish. I know the previous owner. Edited April 29 by Dinocollector

Fossildude19
So this tooth is originally from Madagascar, according to some sources. The ID is likely incorrect, as is the location. Do with that information what you will. 1 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 __________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks."
