New Members Geodude Posted May 2 New Members Share Posted May 2 Hello, here is a tooth from the Akrabou Formation, Asfla, Goulmima, El Rachidia, Morocco. Approximately 93.9 – 89.8 million years old. I read that several marine reptiles have been described from this location, including a pliosaurid and an elasmosaurid. Any idea which marine reptile this tooth belongs to? The scale is in cm. Thank you!
Mike from North Queensland
Unsure about the actual species found in that area but I would tend to identify as pliosaur indt as elasmosaur teeth tend to be more gracile. The stirations on the tooth match what I would expect from an pliosaur.
