MikeR
I recently purchased a large collection of fossils from the old Terramar Pit in Pasco County, Florida. The collection contains the typical Lower Oligocene Suwannee Formation inverts along with Suwannee shark teeth and sink hole material that I assume is Upper Pleistocene based on some Alligator material. Also included is a vertebra identified as coming from a Suwannee Dugong. I have my doubt as it is the same color as the sink hole material, but hoping some of the vert people on the forum can help in either confirm or discount dugong. 1 "A problem solved is a problem caused"--Karl Pilkington "I was dead for millions of years before I was born and it never inconvenienced me a bit." -- Mark Twain

We are privy to only one fossil from the collection? I am not versed in lower Oligocene Suwannee Formation inverts. So it would be nice to see a few if not too much trouble for you.
Shellseeker
Mike, I was out hunting on Wednesday May 1st... Found a Vertebra in a Miocene layer... My standard hunting partner (50 years hunting the Peace river) insisted that I had found dugong, not whale or dolphin... Here is a Dugong vert from PrehistoricFlorida's website. 1 The White Queen ".... in her youth she could believe "six impossible things before breakfast"
