New Members Anar Posted May 5 New Members Share Posted May 5 This was found in Chimney Bluffs, Sodus NY, Lake Ontario. I though it was a shell however as I’m exposing more of the ‘shell’ I’m encountering this dots that are difficult to get rid of - see last picture with dots fully visible, also first time trying to expose a fossil so I’m not sure I’m doing it right. I found other stones or hash fossils with crinoids. Any idea what the dots are ? (Pictures have numbers because I posted several other pics on a facebook group). Rockwood
It's not clear, but the shell may have been encrusted by a heliolitid coral.
Ludwigia
The dots are probaby some type of mineral inclusion and not fossils. Greetings from the Lake of Constance. Roger http://www.steinkern.de/
