Crinoid or brachiopod?

This was found in Chimney Bluffs, Sodus NY, Lake Ontario.

I though it was a shell however as I’m exposing more of the ‘shell’ I’m encountering this dots that are difficult to get rid of - see last picture with dots fully visible, also first time trying to expose a fossil so I’m not sure I’m doing it right.

I found other stones or hash fossils with crinoids. Any idea what the dots are ? (Pictures have numbers because I posted several other pics on a facebook group).

It's not clear, but the shell may have been encrusted by a heliolitid coral.

The dots are probaby some type of mineral inclusion and not fossils.
