fossil35
I found what I think is a spider but wanted to ask, to be sure as they can be hard to see will and tell. As well found what I'm thinking is some kind of plant matter (or maybe grass bits) but wanted to see if anyone knew what they maybe. Fossils are from Colorado. #1 (what thinking spider) #1 (closer view) #2 (other half) #3 (first piece) #3 (closer view) #3 (closest could get) #4 (second piece) (same kind of stuff as first piece) #4 (closer view) #4 (closer view different area)
Rockwood
I think that most likely is a spider, and the other is definitely plant material of some sort.
Fossildude19
The plant material looks like modern roots. You sure they are IN the rock, and not ON the rock? The first sure looks like a spider to me. fossil35
Thanks for the help. Wanted to be sure with spider, as they can be so lightly showing. After you said modern roots think it does look like that. I tried brushing the pieces and didn't come off. But I did look around the pieces more up close and found a little part over hanging. So likely the modern roots. thanks for info. #1 (there was a little over hang found on the crack part after looking again)
