New Members kitkat6744 Posted May 21 New Members Share Posted May 21 The first 3 photos are the same specimen and of which, is cut in half thinking at the time, it was a geode. I'll send pictures of both pieces together once I retrieve it and maybe then you will see what I see. Both pieces may be just quartz. Idk, any info would be great. Fin Lover
Sorry, I'm not seeing any bone, which would be present in a skull. 3 Fin Lover
Fossildude19
Definitely quartz, or chert, and not a skull. 1 1 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 IPFOTM -- MAY - 2024 _________________________________________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." New Members kitkat6744 Posted May 22 Author New Members Share Posted May 22 I sorta thought that as well. It wasn't until a friend pointed out a few features that got me wondering. As far as the "dragon man" goes, I took upon myself to take a few screen shots off of YouTube, incase Kane would like to educate himself more on the subject. Thanks for the replies
Mark Kmiecik
It's a human skull, possibly a new species, found in 1933. It is not the skull of a dragon. It does not look like the skull of a dragon. It is not related to any kind of dragon simply because dragons are fictional creatures. Your rock looks nothing like a skull or a dragon. It is just a rock. Not a skull. Not a dragon. Just a rock. You would be well served in learning a few things from Kane. You are among experts here, many of whom are authorities in their fields of study, mostly specialized areas of paleontology. Mark. Randyw
First I’d like to clear up any possible misconceptions on one or both sides. The o.p. Is stating that it has a resemblance to the Chinese dragon man skull not that it is a dragon/man hybrid.. The Chinese dragon man skulls are not believed to be half man half dragon. Its just a working name for them like the hobbit man skull and etc… they are actually believed to be a link or cross shoot of Homo sapiens and closer to the Denisovans. As to this piece I do not believe it to be a skull or any other bone or fossil. The tell tales simply aren’t there. It’s unfortunate but it’s just a rock sorry Edited May 22 by Randyw Clarification
