Fossil embedded in blue granite?

Found this on the beach.  Probably a quartz vein or something but the shape has me perplexed.  I don't see much blue granite or any blue type of rock here in Delaware.

Possibly vesicular basalt, but this isn't granite or a fossil.

Looks like industrial slag probably from steel smelting. (I don't know if there any igneous rocks around there that would look similar.)
