Help identifying from Compton bay, isle of Wight, UK

Just come back from a few days on the Isle of wight in the UK.

Several beaches are apparently good at finding fossils, I once got an ammonite in some fossilised wood but its now disintegrated.

I've now stumbled across this, it's rough like honeycomb littered with black bits in and in places looks like it's got fools gold specales.

Could anyone help identifying what all this could be. It's fascinating!

I don't see any honeycomb or pyrite.

Fossil hunting is easy -- they don't run away when you shoot at them!
