Ramo
I just got called out to work in Phoenix. I'll be heading out tomorrow, and in a hurry, but on my return trip in 14-21 days, I'd like to do a little hunting. I'll post again before heading back, but thought I'd like to get some ideas for my return trip to think about. Acryzona
Bowkill, Look into the Naco Formation (Pennsylvanian) NE of PHX. I've wanted to visit the Kohl Ranch locality but haven't had the time when I'm out there. The formation is limestone and mudstone containing brachs, other inverts and micros. Found this excerpt from t-rat dot com at Kohls Ranch 19 miles northeast of Payson on the Heber-Young Road, contains arthrodire plates and good invertebrates. Roadcuts and hill slopes in this and the East Verde area contain many fossils Happy travels! Scylla
http://www.t-rat.com/Pages/WhereToFindFossils.html this is a good overall fossil web site and gives a lot of AZ geology. I had luck on Mingus mauntain and in the Chinle formation (not in the national park) Lots of fossils around Flagstaff (crinoid stems and brachiopods) in the Kaibab limestone. good luck
