-AnThOnY-
While checking one of the most promising looking sites ive ever seen i found this peice (Only exogyra and marcasite along a 3 mile stretch of completely exposed cretaceous rock ) but anyway thought id share cause I hadnt seen this before: example of marcasite I found (Anyone know how can I prevent it from degrading at all?) and the cool peice. which is exogyra with marcasite growing on it both on top and on bottom -top -bottom
squali
The blueish tint and nodules could be vivianite -a mineral that develops in marine deposits. It's hard to remember why you drained the swamp when your surrounded by alligators.
squali
if it is Vivianite it degrades under uv light and I have only had success by keeping it sealed in a film container. It's hard to remember why you drained the swamp when your surrounded by alligators.
-AnThOnY-
The blue is the shell, its alot more pronounced in the picture, doesnt look that blue actually. And all the nodules look exactly like the marcasite I have Edited January 7, 2011 by -AnThOnY-
