TygerTyger
Plus, he says, reptiles lay dozens of eggs at a time. Pterosaurs were very specialised, why couldn't their breeding habits reflect this? Surely the need to maintain a light body structure would impact on the animals ability to carry dozens of eggs at a time? I can't help thinking that peterosaurs migth sacrifice egg numbers per clutch to maintain flight ability. Not all birds lay dozens of eggs at a time and they are supposed to be descended from reptiles!
BobWill
Do any birds lay dozens of eggs at a time?
