piranha
Great fossil Peter! EDIT: Question; is Old Red Formation part of the Old Red Sandstone? I didn't realize it extended to Ukraine? Edited February 12, 2011 by piranha
pleecan
Great fossil Peter! EDIT: Question; is Old Red Formation part of the Old Red Sandstone? I didn't realize it extended to Ukraine? Thanks Scott. With regards to the geology I am not that sure... I copied the discriptor from the seller Zoic in Italy... the package was all taped up by customs because no paper work was filled up... glad it made it in one pc. This is my first Devonian placoderm head shield... now I have a rough idea what the silly thing looks like .... will be on the look out for one of these at Arkona this spring.... piranha
Thanks Peter, I just found it at Google scholar. It's analogous to the Old Red Sandstone and indeed a separate formation. COOL !!
