Everyone post and picture on here and then maybe we can take a poll on the coolest little fossil? Here is mine, found in the mine at Lee Creek about 4 years ago, all on the same hill, along with some very nice hastalis. Two Bonito noses and a small fish tail bone. jpc Posted March 7, 2011 Share Posted March 7, 2011 (edited) since no one has responded to this one, I'm gonna add my favorite microvert fossil. This is a lizard premaxilla from the eEocene of southwestern Wyoming. I found this one (and many other small fossils) by screenwashing and then sorting through the stuff under the microscope. This fossil is 3mm across the width of the tooth row. I do not know the genus of lizard, but it is one of my faves. Still needs final prep... you can see some matrix still stuck to it. Someday...
