siteseer
I was watching the late news last night when this story was reported: http://www.kionrightnow.com/Global/story.asp?S=14301474 A paleontologist from UC Berkeley was interviewed. No information regarding the skeleton's age was given though the specimen was identified as a Columbian mammoth, a species known in California and other areas from the Late Pleistocene (Rancholabrean - possibly as young as 30,000 years old or maybe even younger).
