Xiphactinus
I thought I escaped the tornadoes when I moved from Kansas, but guess not. This past weekend we were in Kansas visiting X-man Jr. at college when we had a big twister hit St. Louis. After a nerve-wracking 1/2 hour of hitting the "refresh" button on my phone watching the radar at home and getting non-stop texts and phone calls, our home was safe. The fossils are tucked away in the basement, but when an F4 pays a visit, that doesn't do much good. The tornado missed our house by only 6 blocks!!! Whew! eaglephot
Thank goodness everything is safe. I can imagine what that drive was like. I am paranoid everyday that something will happen to my collections!
sixgill pete
Glad your collection is safe, but even more amazing that no one was seriously injured or killed according to the news. Having just experienced devastating tornadoes here in NC; unfortunately with 24 deaths, i to am glad my collection did not perish but my heart goes out to all who lost loved ones or everything they owned whether here or in St. Louis or elsewhere. Shamalama
Whoa, that was close! Glad that your family is OK and so is your collection! I don't think that the land of OZ needs giant fossilized fish falling from the sky. -Dave __________________________________________________ Geologists on the whole are inconsistent drivers.
