Lonewuff Posted May 22, 2011 Share Posted May 22, 2011 I've found quite a few ammonites in Alabama. Some of them are quite large reaching over 6' across. This picture is of an ammonite I found last month in a cretaceous area weighing over 25 lbs and is 17" across. Complete it would have been over 4' across. I beleicve this is a Placenticeras.
