sue in ohio
This place is called the Lock Haven Ripple Marks site for the long ago Silurian coral reef that was exposed here during the construction of Rt.220 in the 70's but unfortunately, it's nearly gone now due to weathering. The ripple marks were formed in the sand and mud by wave action on the bottom of an ancient ocean that covered this area. This site was closed to collecting when the land changed hands and the new owner posted no trespassing.. coral clusters, trilo thorax, crinoid stocks and tiny brachs were what I found here: Edited July 3, 2011 by sue in pa
AeroMike
too bad it is now off limits. We have a quarry here that they used to let us in every quarter but they stopped it and no one has been able to go back in like we used too.
