Auspex
"Cruziana", the ichnotaxon identified as trilobite tracks, sort of resembles a zipper. flyguy784
You mostly know by experience Faye. Seeing hundreds of prints/trace etc, mostly in books and online. Trilobites and insects leave tracks as you describe, depending on the geologic time frame where they're found. Based on your description, they're tracks. Please put up a picture or two to be sure. What period do the deposits you've found them date to?
dhk
Many kinds of critters leave tracks for us to find. If you post a couple pics and give us a time ref. we will be more able to get an ID. Myropods, trils, insects, athropods... hard to tell without more info.
