Tachikoma_kun
So here's some of my most prized fossils, sadly almost all bought or bought for me, such is Lebanon that you don't trespass on others territory. The crystal belemnite I found in the Lyme Regis area, never seen a crystal belemnite outside of Australian Opal specimens. I have lots of generic ammonites, bivalves, sea urchins, etc, will upload those another time. Thanks for looking. Tachikoma_kun
Thanks both! Only been collecting properly since March, but think I started off with some nice specimens, my (now ex Lebanese) girlfriends family were friends with the people that mined and prepared them, so we got them for literally nothing. The ray is only part prepared, but it was a rare opportunity to get a ray and crinoids cheaply, I certainly couldn't afford to buy them from a regular dealer full-price. Fossildude19
Nice collection! Thanks for sharing it with us! I think your viperfish may be Eurypholis boissieri. Ludwigia
You're off to a good start! Have fun expanding on it. Maybe you can go hunting yourself now. There are more than enough possibilities in the UK. Best wishes, Roger Greetings from the Lake of Constance. Tachikoma_kun
Thanks all! Nice collection! Thanks for sharing it with us! I think your viperfish may be Eurypholis boissieri. Regards, Thanks! yeah, I am 99% sure it is as well, just a few niggling doubts though, the lower jaw is usually very pronounced and longer than here, and the dorsal scales are usually 2-3 times bigger (and further back) it may just be an immature or irregular fish though, while trying to nail down what it is, I have seen some very odd looking Eurypholis Boissieri You're off to a good start! Have fun expanding on it. Maybe you can go hunting yourself now. There are more than enough possibilities in the UK. Best wishes, Roger Thanks! I have some Lebanese fossils I collected myself (bivalves, etc), which I will upload later, just wanted to get the "good" ones uploaded first before I retired for the evening. The stemless crinoid is I believe Antedon pinnulata (formerly Pterocoma) Edited August 31, 2011 by Tachikoma_kun

Tachikoma_kun
Great marine fossils!!! especially a Ray Sadly I missed out on a superb complete positive and negative ray, thinking I would get it next time I was in Lebanon, but we separated a few months later. I was already a few KG over my airline baggage weight limit so couldn't carry anything else, and the matrix on the +/- pair was large and thick.
