Limestone Varieties

Well, that is a good question that has a very technical answer. The simple one is: many. It depends on the purity of the limestone and what other sediments are mixed with it. There can be mixtures with sand and silt and it can also grade into dolostone if the depositing conditions are correct. Chalk is technically limestone too.
